How to style a console table for your entryway.
Entrance tables are a perfect way to showcase your favorite pieces, organize your necessities, and create a welcoming vibe into your home. This is not only beautiful, but also functional. A console table at the entrance of your home gives a place to set the mood for ambient lighting, creates space for catchall items, such as keys and loose change and it can be an excellent filler for an otherwise empty space.
One of the ways I love to style a console is to place two lamps on each end. I love the symmetry and balance it gives. Lamps are optimal for setting the mood in a home. Ambient lighting can create a lit space for when you’re coming home after dark, and you want to have a light on. With the benefits of today’s technology, like Alexa and Smarthome you can easily turn your lights on and off from wherever you are. This is a pure example of function and beauty.
Another benefit to an entryway console is, it can be a great catchall place, if its neatly organized of course. The console used in this shop the look image, has two drawers with beautiful gold hardware. The drawers are an ideal space for keys and other loose items. Another option if you have a console that doesn’t have drawers is a nice decorative bowl, also great door keys and or loose change.
Entryways are the first impression of your home for your guests. You want it to reflect who you are and fit with your style and vibe. There should be flow and harmony throughout. This can sometimes seem overwhelming, but with proper help it’s not and can be a very enjoyable process.

When styling your console table keep with the style, vibe, and color family of the rest of your home. It doesn’t have to be an exact match, not at all, but there should be a relationship throughout the common areas of your home.
For this look the style has a lux sophisticated vibe, with a bit of drama. The color palette is gold, cream, and chocolate. You will notice clean lines, classic colors, and a modern look.
Let’s Jump in:
Lighting on each end of the console creates symmetry and height.
Oversized mirror creates a focal point and can brighten up a space, by reflecting light. The bottom of your artwork/mirror should be approx. 4”-6” above the top of console table. This is just a guide and can be adjusted.
Linen covered stacked books for height.
Place a decorative vase with flowers on top of stacked books. Flowers are great for adding texture into a space.
Scooped brushed gold bowl with decorative spheres. This brings in more color, texture, and visual interest
When pulling everything together keep in mind color, symmetry, and scale. This is important in creating harmony and balance. The goal is for everything to look purposefully curated and beautiful.
