I got the happy blues
If you have been following me for a while you know I don't have personal stories behind my designs. Some designs are simply spaces I curated for enjoyment and some are for my clients -still enjoyment. With that being said my blog posts are to the point in how to recreate the look in your own home or why a look works.
I do hope you find my posts inspiring and/or helpful for styling your own beautiful homes. And remember I'm just a click away if you would like to contact me about online interior design services.
Soo let's get into this lovely room
Blue and blush with hints of gold and crystals is such a beautiful combination. It is bold but yet soft and feminine.
Blue grasscloth wallpaper and navy drapes create a good backdrop. If wallpaper is a little too permanent for you there's also peel n stick wallpaper in a pseudo grasscloth look. Peel n stick is another good alternative to paint for renters or those of you who just don't want to paint.
I used blush pink lamp shades and pillows and in the wallart. I love to use lamp shades to bring in accent colors. Yes I know many lamps come with the standard taupe, beige or white shades. Simply change them out for something more aesthetically pleasing for the space.
Pillows is a well known way to bring in accent colors, but it's also a way to add texture to the space. Layering of various textiles, materials, shades of a similar hue creates visual interest.
This wallart over the bed is a focal point and literally ties the two colors in together. It's perfect and works well against the bold wallpaper.
If your wanting to create an accent wall such as the one in this design. It's recommend to use the wall that is behind your headboard. Your bed is the main attraction in a bedroom so the wall it's placed on makes sense to accent. There's no competition between the wall and bed it flows.
Layered lighting creates drama. What I mean by layered lighting is the use of multiple lighting types to create a particular mood or vibe.
In this bedroom room render, the recessed cans provide an overall glow while the chandelier is not only a decorative fixture it also provides ambient lighting. The beautiful crystal table lamp is an attractive piece next to the dark grasscloth wall. The floor lamp is also crystal but in a softer circular design. It brings a bit of unexpecteness but provides function for the purpose of task lighting for someone siting in the chair reading a book in that corner.
To top it off add more texture with a faux fur throw and some greenery.
Recreate this space and enjoy!
