Combining function and beauty to create an inviting entryway. This is typically the first area visitors see when entering your home. This is also the perfect place to set the vibe and tone of your home. Your entryway should flow with the rest of your homes look and feel.

Now this does not mean matchy-matchy. For example if your home is a glam sophisticated vibe, having a traditional farmhouse entryway is not going to flow with the rest of your home. You want to aim for similarities in hue, style or vibe even if it's subtle.

Styling an entryway or console table isn’t really that challenging . I get a ton of questions about how to pull an entryway look together, so I thought I’d make it easy and create a shoppable post with options for varying styles and budgets.

These designer tips and suggestions will have your entryway looking like you hired a professional but also showcase your unique style and vibe.

Accessorizing an surfaces such as a console table, is pretty easy let’s start with the instructions below

  • Choose a unique mirror or vertical hanging artwork. Center it over the console approx. 6" from the surface. Choose a mirror that you love and is a reflection of you. (no pun intended) Or if you opt for artwork what feeling or vibe do you want to convey to visitors entering your home. What do you want to see when you enter this area.

  • Add a mix of accessories. Do not be afraid to accessorize, however do not over accessorize. Over accessorizing will cause items to compete with each other or get lost amongst each other. You can create a visually pleasing space with varying textures, with mixed metals, stone, pottery, and/or woods etc.

  • Add a patterned rug to add texture and soften the arrangement.

  • If you opt for an open table concept use unique ottomans of baskets below the open table for added seating and storage. I don’t believe we can ever have too much storage, especially if its included in the design style

  • Fresh floral flowers give life to an area. This is also a small detail that creates an inviting space. By changing up your flower arrangements and colors weekly this will give your entry way a fresh look every week. .

  • Lighting if you would like to add lamps in your entryway consider choosing lamps with height to frame the artwork or mirror and create an ambiance in the space.
